The summit of the highest mountain in Western Europe was recently measured by geographical surveyors. The final result gave an altitude of 4808.72 m above sea level.
It now measures 1 cm less than in 2015, and about 2 m less than in 2007 when the highest measurement ever was done at 4810.90 m.
The given altitudes varie due to the impact from winds that effect the summit, rather than changes in temperature or snowfall.
